November 9, 2017
Summary: The cold front has dissipated over central California, leaving only a few sprinkles from Merced County northward. Further south, most of the cloud cover has burned off, allowing temperatures to top the 70 degree mark just about everywhere. The air filtering into the valley is only marginally cooler than the current air mass, so near to marginally above average temperatures will continue. Meanwhile, in the upper atmosphere a strong west to east flow continues over the eastern Pacific and into California underneath a low now shifting eastward into the Pacific Northwest. Another ripple of low pressure will move through northern California Friday, but any precipitation will be from a Bay Area/Sacramento line northward.
The weekend will be very pleasant as a flat zone of upper level high pressure moves in. Low pressure will again try to push a front through northern California Monday, but the impact on central California will be minimal.
One model is suggesting a new system will affect roughly the northern half of California about Wednesday, but this isn’t being picked up on by others. At any rate, a westerly flow across the Pacific will flow through to California, cutting off any cold air masses from moving into the state for the foreseeable future. The two week model shows showers trying to move into northern California, but with only a minimal risk of rain immediately to our north.
Forecast: Partly cloudy tonight and Friday. Mostly clear to occasionally partly cloudy Friday night through Sunday night. partly cloudy Monday through Tuesday. Variable cloudiness Wednesday through Thursday.

Winds: Winds will be generally less than 10 MPH through Sunday with periods of near calm conditions, mainly during the night and early morning hours.
Rain: Dry weather will more than likely continue for the next week or so. A system will move inland through northern California Monday, but it appears to be a Bay Area/Sacramento line north affair. One model shows the possibility of a stronger system about Wednesday of next week, but for now it’s just one model so we’ll maintain a dry forecast at this time.
Frost Information: All locations will be above 32 degrees tonight and each night for the next 7 to possibly 10 days.
