March 28, 2018
Summary: Temperatures are running 3 to 5 degrees warmer than 24 hours ago. Temperatures will take a big jump today as upper level high pressure continues to build in from the west. The freezing level continues to rise and as of last night stood at 11,800 feet. Temperatures tomorrow will reach 80 degrees in many areas. Low to mid 80s can be expected for the Easter weekend. A weak trough of low pressure will move through over the weekend with some increase in mid and high level clouds, but little else. Temperatures will marginally come down but will still be several degrees above average for the date.
Longer term, a flat zone of high pressure will extend from the eastern Pacific and into California and points eastward next week. The upper winds will generally be out of the west, continuing the warm pattern. As far as rain is concerned, there is none in sight both short and medium range.
Forecast: Mostly clear skies through Friday. Mostly clear to occasionally partly cloudy Friday night through Easter night. Mostly clear Monday through Wednesday.

Two Week Outlook: April 4 through April 10: Temperatures will remain above average during this time frame. This model does not have a bias either way for below or above average rainfall. For now, we’ll go with a slight chance of rain during this period and leave it at that.
March: Not much encouragement as far as rainfall is concerned as this model is indicating below average precipitation, especially over the second half of the month. So far, this model predicts near average temperatures.
March, April, May: The ninety-day outlook doesn’t exactly make one happy if rain is the desired outcome. It does show a better than average chance of above average temperatures, mainly due to high pressure off shore, and below average precipitation.
Winds: Winds will be generally less than 12 MPH later mornings and afternoons and less than 7 MPH with periods of near calm conditions nights and early mornings through Saturday.
Rain: Expect dry weather for at least the next week to ten days.
Frost: All locations will be above freezing indefinitely.
Afternoon Dew Points Today: Mid to upper 40s. Kern: Mid to upper 40s.
