Fairly weak upper level high pressure continues to build from its center off the southern California coast. The freezing level a few hours ago over Oakland had risen to 13,400 feet, indicating decent warming aloft. This will be reflected in a warming trend on the valley floor as readings approach 70 today and move into the low to mid 70s Thursday and Friday.
A couple of weak low pressure systems will move through northern California Friday night into Sunday, resulting in partly cloudy skies over California and somewhat of a cooling trend as readings move back into the pleasant upper 60s and lower 70s.
Medium range models show a dry pattern for next week as a blocking ridge pattern prevails. The two week outlook, however, is showing storms moving back into the Pacific Northwest and northern California so we’ll keep an eye on this to see if any future precipitation chances exist later down the road. Most locations, as of 7:00am, have a visibility ranging from 7 to 10 miles. The ground fog that is out there this morning will dissipate by 10:00 or 11:00am.
Forecast: Areas of night and morning fog and low clouds. Otherwise it will be mostly clear and somewhat hazy through Friday. Partly cloudy Friday night through Wednesday with patchy night and morning fog.
