The valley floor has essentially dried out due to the long period of dry weather. Hanford received .07 back on November 8th while Bakersfield picked up .01. So despite the fact we have a strong warm air inversion above the valley floor, fog will have a difficult time getting a foothold. The air above us remains quite comfy for the time of year. As of 6:00am, Sandberg at an elevation of 4,100 feet was reporting 61 degrees while Blue Canyon at 5,600 feet was reporting 55. The freezing level a short time ago over Oakland was 13,100 feet. Strong upper level high pressure stretches from the mid Pacific Ocean eastward into the Great Basin. At the surface, surface high pressure is centered over Utah, maintaining an off shore flow. The main storm track continues to be deflect/y=ed into British Columbia and Washington state. Medium range models show no hope of a break in this overall pattern through the first week in December.
Forecast: Other than patchy morning fog and occasional high clouds, it will be mostly clear through next Monday.

Two Week Outlook: December 6 through December 12: This model is not as favorable in the possibility of the storm track moving further south. It now indicates the bulk of the precipitation affecting the Pacific Northwest and possibly northern California with above average temperatures continuing.
December, January, February: If this model is to be believed at all, temperatures will be marginally above average over central California. This model also depicts the main storm track continuing into the Pacific Northwest with somewhat below average precipitation over the southern 2/3 of California.
Wind Discussion: Winds tonight through Thursday will be generally variable at no more than 10 MPH with periods of near calm conditions.
Rain: Expect dry conditions for at least the next 7 to 10 days.
Frost: Most locations were up a degree or two last night with most locations in the mid to upper 30s. however, as of 6:00am, McFarland and Lindsay each had a temperature of 31. Slight moderation will continue with most locations bottoming out in the mid 30s to the lower 40s, Isolated pockets will drop down into the lower 30s each night. Upper level high pressure shows up on models through at least the first week in December. There’s just nothing out there that would result in particularly cold weather.
