Summary: The early part of the current week will be characterized by more of the same. Then we’ll move into an early summer pattern for the first time. Currently, there’s a weak upper air disturbance located over eastern Washington and Oregon. This system has lowered barometers enough over the Great Basin for minor increases in northwesterly breezes down the valley this afternoon and evening. This feature will race southeastward into Colorado Tuesday. This will allow strong upper level high pressure over the eastern Pacific to begin to build inland, driving temperatures to near 90 as early as Wednesday. This high will dominate our pattern through this coming weekend. Currently, Friday and Saturday appear to be the warmest days in this series with readings moving into the mid 90s, a good 15 degrees above average. Ninety plus weather will continue through at least Monday of next week. the high will begin to break down Tuesday as a low drops southward from the Pacific Northwest into northern California. No precipitation is expected on the valley floor, however there may be enough convection for scattered showers and thunderstorms over the high Sierra Wednesday through Friday of next week. temperatures will also drop down closer to seasonal averages.
Forecast: Mostly clear through Thursday. Mostly clear Thursday night through Monday.
