Summary: .Any changes in the overall pattern over the next week to ten days will be subtle. A blanket of high pressure aloft continues to cover the eastern Pacific and the western half of the lower 48 with a ridge poking northward into western Canada. At the surface, the marine layer is exactly where it was yesterday with a depth of 1,400 feet. A small feed of modified marine air is making its way down to the Delta. The last observation at Travis AFB indicated winds out of the southwest at 15 mph. the freezing level has increased slightly and now stands at 13,800 feet. Mid to upper 90s will continue through at least Tuesday of next week. a trough will push through the top portion of the high by Wednesday which may allow enough marine air to move down the valley to lower temperatures ito the mid to  upper 80s by Thursday of next week.

Forecast: Mostly clear skies through Saturday night. Mostly clear skies will continue Sunday through Wednesday.

Two Week Outlook:  May 24 through May 30  This model indicates temperatures will be close to average with near average precipitation, meaning the chance of precipitation will remain low.

May:  This model continues trends during the month of May that we saw in April. Pressures will be lower than average along the west coast, resulting in the chance of above average rainfall and below average temperatures

May, June, July:  This model doesn’t really move the needle either way for temperatures and rainfall over the next three months. being that we’re heading into the hot, dry season, it means little anyway.

Wind Discussion: Winds will be mainly out of the northwest through Saturday at 8 to 15 mph afternoons and evenings and 5 to 7 mph nights and mornings with periods of near calm conditions.

Rain Discussion: Expect dry weather for the next week to 10 days.
