Summary Low level moisture from scattered showers the past few days and a weak warm air inversion have set the stage for the first patchy fog of the season. At last report, visibility at Visalia was down to three quarters of a mile, one half mile in Lemoore. Most other locations are reporting a visibility of a mile or better. The low pressure system responsible for the showers has moved southward into northern Baja. Weak high pressure is building in from the west which will keep temperatures marginally above average through Wednesday. The next low pressure system will move through the Pacific Northwest later today. This system will drop southeastward into the Great Basin Thursday. This will eventually aid in the development of a trough of low pressure stretching from central Canada to California, setting up a northerly flow over California, transporting cooler and drier air down the valley. A couple of locations may dip into the 30s by Saturday morning. I’m not ready to use the frost word quite yet, but under the right conditions, river bottom and similar locations could dip down into the mid 30s.
Forecast Mostly clear with patchy morning fog through Wednesday. Mostrly clear to occasionally partly cloudy Wednesday night through Thursday night. Mostly clear Thursday through Tuesday.
