Summary  Showers likely today, mainly in the morning. mostly cloudy skies can be expected tonight through Friday. A rather strong low off the coast of the Pacific Northwest will close off, forming a closed low just off the northern California coast by Friday. By Saturday, the center of circulation will be just west of Monterey. This storm is rather dynamic and will push surges of moisture into central California through Saturday with a chance of showers continuing Saturday night. by Sunday, the low will have dropped southward into northern Baja, allowing high pressure to build northeastward into the Pacific Northwest and northern California. This will be the beginning of several days of dry weather with a warming trend. By midweek, temperatures will have risen into the mid to upper 70s.

Forecast  Showers this morning. Becoming mostly to partly cloudy this afternoon through Friday. Rain at times Friday night through Saturday with a chance of isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. A chance of showers for a time Saturday night. becoming partly cloudy Sunday through Sunday night. mostly clear skies Monday night through Thursday with a warming trend.

Two Week Forecast:  April 4 through April 9: This model shows a rather robust flow into California. Energy from the northeast Pacific moves into California from time to time. The chance of rain is relatively high during this period with below average temperatures.

Thirty Day Report: If this model has much credence, rainfall will remain above average, especially in northern and central California, stretching into the interior west. Temperatures however, look to be marginally below average.

Ninety Day Report: This model indicates near to marginally above average rainfall over the next three months. Equal chances are given for temperatures being above or below average.

Winds:  Winds will be generally out of the east to southeast at 8 to 15 mph through Friday morning. winds Friday afternoon through Saturday will be out of the east to southeast at 10 to 20 mph. Gusts to 40 mph are possible along the west side with gusts to near 50 mph in the extreme south valley. Winds will decrease Saturday night, becoming mostly out of the northwest 8 to 15 mph Sunday.

Rain: Showers will continue for a time this morning, ending by this afternoon. A temporary slot of dry weather will develop today through Friday. Showers will spread in from the west to northwest Friday night, continuing through Saturday and possibly through Saturday night. isolated thunderstorms are possible Saturday afternoon and evening. Rainfall amounts from Friday night through Saturday night could tally up to between one-half and three-quarters of an inch north of Kern County. Dry weather returns Sunday and, as of this juncture, it appears dry weather will be with us through all of next week.
