April 6, 2024 report

April 6, 2024

Summary  The very cold weather system which resulted in some fairly significant rainfall for the valley has now moved into the western Rocky Mountains. Quickly on its heels is a weak trough of low pressure which will move through central California tonight and Sunday. There will be a chance of light showers over the high Sierra but only some increasing higher level clouds over the valley floor. After this little system races through, we will see the beginning of dry and much warmer weather. Upper level high pressure will begin pushing in from the eastern Pacific Monday and will eventually be right overhead Monday through Friday. Models for Friday and Saturday of next week indicate warmest locations on the valley floor will be teasing with the 90 degree mark. Even though these temperatures are above average, temperatures in the mid 90s would have to be obtained to break any records.

Forecast Partly cloudy today and tonight. Becoming mostly clear Sunday. Mostly clear Sunday night and on through Saturday of next week.
