April 13, 2024
Summary The center of circulation of a rather robust upper low is just off the northern California coast at this hour. By midday, the center of the storm will be just to the west of the Golden Gate. This will put it in an ideal position to rotate bands of showers inland for what should be a very active day, especially this afternoon and evening. Assuming we get some breaks in the overcast, a destabilizing factor for the atmosphere above, isolated thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon through the early evening hours. Periods of showers will continue tonight and well into Sunday. By Monday morning, the low will have moved into norther Arizona and southern Nevada. As the low pulls off to the east, high pressure will begin to take over. Temperatures will jump from the mid 60s Sunday to the upper 70s by Wednesday. The high will reach its pinnacle by Friday as temperatures reach the upper 80s. Models continue to show upper level high pressure over and off the Pacific coast for the entire upcoming week. No organized storm is developing for the next ten days so, after Sunday, dry weather can be expected with above average temperatures.
Forecast Showers becoming likely late this morning. showers this afternoon through Sunday morning. a chance of isolated thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Partly to mostly cloudy this afternoon through Monday morning. mostly clear to occasionally partly cloudy Tuesday through Saturday.
