May 6, 2024

Summary  An elongated trough of low pressure extends from the Gulf of Alaska to the Pacific Northwest while high pressure is setting up shop along the California coast. Central California is on the far eastern side of the high. The high will eventually build into the Pacific Northwest while a low center develops over the Desert Southwest. Winds aloft will become northeasterly along central California, creating an off shore flow while will contribute to a warming trend. However, it will be  Wednesday before temperatures top out near season averages. Upper level high pressure will build eastward over California eastward and on through the weekend. Most locations will be near  90 by Saturday then will top out in the low to mid 90s Sunday and Monday. most longer range models indicate high pressure will be over the western states and off shore for a prolonged period of dry weather.

Forecast Mostly clear skies all the way through Monday of next week.
