The center of circulation of a fairly robust low is just west of San Francisco at this hour. The counterclockwise circulation around this storm is pinwheeling light showers over the northern half of the valley from western Fresno County through Madera County north. Much of the south valley has been in the sunshine this afternoon. It’s a fairly breezy day, especially along the west side. The latest observation has Lemoore gusting to 24 mph and Fresno an even 20. The altimeter at San Francisco was 29.64 inches of mercury while over the high deserts the pressure was 29.83, thus the gusty winds. Forecast models show the low just wobbling off shore through Tuesday night. Models are still showing a dry forecast from Kings and Tulare Counties south although a few sprinkles would not be a total shock north of Kern County. The low will finally move to the northeast Wednesday and its movement will accelerate, causing it to center over Idaho Thursday. This will allow upper level high pressure to nudge in from the west for the beginning of a warming trend. Readings should be near the 90 degree mark as early as Sunday, leveling off into generally the mid 90s Monday through Wednesday of next week. the new two week outlook shows tropical moisture moving into southern California and Arizona. Since this is a two week projection, we’ll take it with a grain of salt for now and see if any trends develop.
