March 15, 2024 report

March 15, 2024

Summary The main feature on this morning’s model information is a cut off low centered near the California/Mexico border. Scattered showers are occurring over the mountains and deserts of southern California. Light showers are possible as far north as the Tehachapi Mountains. However, the valley will remain north of any active weather. The low is forecast to meander over the same real estate for the next 48 hours then move slowly into Arizona Saturday night and Sunday. In the meantime. Upper level high pressure is building northward into the Pacific Northwest and southern Canada. This high will effectively block any future storms from getting anywhere near California. As the high builds overhead, temperatures will warm accordingly with temperatures moving into the low to mid 70s Saturday and Sunday, the warmest locations on the valley floor Monday through Wednesday may eclipse the 80 degree mark. By around Saturday the 23rd, a low is projected to develop off the coast of the Pacific Northwest and northern California, possibly spreading showers over the area. Until then, fine spring weather will prevail.

Forecast Mostly clear skies through Monday. mostly clear skies will continue Monday night through Friday.
