February 6, 2019/frost update
Frost Discussion: The very coldest frost stations this evening have reached the 32 degree mark as early as 8:00pm. At 8:15, Rio Bravo was at 31, Stone Corral, Lindsay, and Exeter were at 32 as was Lindcove. By 9:00pm, Fowler, Ivanhoe, and Porterville had joined the 32 degree mark club. Temperature descents from this point on will be the usual wobbly descent. Coldest locations will reach 28 degrees by 1:00 or 2:00am and not rise above freezing until 8:30 or 9:00 Thursday morning. Coldest locations will observe temperatures at 32 degrees or below at 11 hours and 28 degrees from 4 to 5 hours.
I still believe Friday morning could experience minor modification of the atmosphere with coldest locations again in the upper 20s, but with more locations in the 30 to 35 degree range. We’ll discuss all the short and medium range outlooks in the Thursday morning report.
