The features on this morning’s models are all somewhat benign. There is a weak low over northern California which will move inland over the next 24 hours, resulting in somewhat cooler weather Sunday and Monday. There’s enough of an inversion this morning for low clouds and fog to form, mostly through the center of the valley from Merced southward to the Kern County line. These clouds will dissipate in the late morning to early afternoon hours, revealing just generally partly skies with hazy sunshine. Another weak trough will stretch from the Gulf of Alaska to central California Monday night and Tuesday. It, too, will be too weak to pose any possibility of precipitation.
A flat high will extend from southern California to well off shore Wednesday. Another trough will move through Thursday. On paper, this system would seem to offer a small chance of light showers, mainly from Fresno northward Thursday, but certainly nothing to write home about.
From Friday through next weekend, a high will build over northern Mexico and will extend northward into the western US, maintaining a storm track primarily into Washington, Oregon, and extreme northern California.
Forecast: Areas of night and morning fog ad low clouds, mainly up the center of the valley. Otherwise, partly cloudy and hazy through Monday morning. Variable cloudiness at times Monday afternoon through Tuesday. Partly cloudy Wednesday. Increasing cloudiness Wednesday night leading to a small chance of showers, mainly from Fresno County north, Thursday and Thursday night. Partly cloudy Friday through Saturday with patchy morning fog.

Two Week Outlook: November 6 through November 12: This model is now indicating there’s roughly a 70 percent chance of precipitation for all of central California. These storms will originate over milder sections of the Pacific Ocean with above average temperatures and relatively high snow levels.
Winds Discussion: Winds during the late morning and afternoon hours will be generally at or less than 10 MPH through Tuesday. Winds during the night and morning hours will be generally at or less than 7 MPH with periods of near calm conditions.
Rain: Dry weather will continue through at least the middle of next week. A trough of low pressure will stretch from the Gulf of Alaska to central California Thursday. The dynamics of this system are not very impressive, but there may be enough for a chance of light showers from mainly Fresno County north. If precipitation were to occur, chances are it would be at .10 or less. We will return to a dry pattern Friday through next weekend. Medium range models are still showing an active pattern over the Pacific Northwest and the northernmost counties of California with central California remaining dry. m
Frost: All locations will be above freezing tonight and each night for the foreseeable future.
