Needing a sick day today. The regular format will return Tuesday, April 26.
April 25, 2022
The flow in the upper atmosphere is mainly running from west to east across the eastern Pacific and into north America. This weak will be characterized by highs and lows moving through the Pacific Northwest. One such high is over California today and will drive temperatures into the mid to upper 80s only to be followed by a trough of low pressure Tuesday into Wednesday, dropping temperatures into the lower 80s. A similar trough will move through Thursday, keeping temperatures near the 80 degree mark, falling into the mid to upper 70s Friday. Yet another ridge of high pressure will move inland over the weekend, pushing readings back into the mid 80s. For now, there’s no precipitation on the horizon as the active portion of storms moving from the eastern Pacific are primarily moving through the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. There will be periods of mid and high level clouds from time to time, otherwise mostly clear skies will prevail for the next week.
Medium range models for next week vary widely. None, however, suggests precipitation any time soon.
Forecast: Mostly clear with occasional high clouds through Thursday. Mostly clear Thursday night through Monday with occasional high clouds.
Short Term: High temperatures today will warm into the mid to upper 80s then will fall back into the lower 80s Tuesday and Wednesday. Overnight lows will cool into the upper 40s and lower 50s Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
