Summary: Another chilly morning, considering the season. One of the Porterville locations is down to 45 as is Strathmore. Most locations range between 47 and 51. The air aloft is quite cool for this time of year. The balloon sounding above Oakland pegged the freezing level at just 9,500 feet. An elongated trough of low pressure stretches from central Canada southwestward to central California. With a robust onshore flow, modified marine air continues to surge into the valley from time to time. This will ensure daytime highs in the low to mid 80s. a secondary low will develop just west of the Bay Area Thursday then will move inland Friday and Saturday. Models show the trough finally weakening during the second half of the weekend and into early next week,, allowing for a slow warming trend beginning Sunday. Models show somewhat of a weakness over the US for much of next week which will keep temperatures in the low to mid 90s. but for now, reasonable temperatures will continue for the next week.
Forecast: Mostly clear and mild through Saturday. Mostly clear Saturday night through Wednesday with a slow warming trend.

Two Week Outlook: June 28 through July 4 This model indicates a blanket of overall high pressure will dominate the pattern through the 4th of July weekend, resulting in above average temperatures and the typically dry conditions.
June: Of course, this time of year, 30 and 90 day outlooks are virtually useless as they’re essentially the same every year. Basically, light all day and hot and dark all night and warm. Essentially for June, near average temperatures and dry.
June, July, August: The 90 day summary outlook is the same this year as it is every year. Generally dry with somewhat above average temperatures. The monsoon season hasn’t begun yet, so we’ll start taking that more seriously down the road.
Wind Discussion: There will be periods of winds out of the west/northwest at 10 to 20 mph at times with stronger gusts possible through Saturday, mainly in the later afternoon through early evening hours. Winds Sunday will be mainly out of the northwest at 8 to 15 mph.
Rain Discussion: Expect dry conditions for at least the next week.
Mid afternoon dew points: Mid to upper 30s. Kern: Low to mid 30s.
