the low pressure responsible for the unsettled weather of the past few days is moving out of northern California and will be settling over Idaho this afternoon. The air mass in its wake is still mild so we have one more day of moderate temperatures. Even though this is the official first day of fall, the forecast will take us right back into summer as upper level high pressure over the Desert Southwest is expanding westward and northward. Temperatures will reach 90 as early as tomorrow afternoon then settle into the mid to upper 90s Saturday with similar conditions for the remainder of the weekend and well into next week. the only element of the weather we’ll have to watch closely for the short term is the monsoon which is alive and well, moving from Mexico into Arizona. Currently, the winds aloft are out of the southwest which will keep any tropical moisture to our east.
Forecast: Mostly clear skies through Monday. mostly clear skies will continue Monday night through Thursday.

Two Week Outlook: September 28 through October 4: This model shows a blanket of upper level high pressure over the eastern Pacific and California for above average temperatures. It also points to an active monsoon with moisture moving into Arizona and possibly southern California.
October: This model is really a flip of the coin as far as precipitation is concerned and shows no real bias for above or below average rainfall. It does indicate somewhat above average temperatures will continue.
October, November, December: This model definitely has a bias for above average temperatures for the next 90 days. It also points to above average rainfall for northern California with below average precipitation for southern California. With that in mind, that gives California near average precipitation.
Wind Discussion: Winds during the late morning through the early morning hours will be variable to no more than 12 mph. winds during the night and early morning hours will be generally at or less than 5 mph with periods of near calm conditions through Sunday.
Rain: Expect dry conditions for at least the next 7 to 10 days.
Frost: All locations will be above freezing tonight and each night for the foreseeable future.
