Summary: As of 1:00pm, the temperature at Delano was already at 79 with most other locations reporting mid to upper 70s. by the time the afternoon is over, many locations will end up in the upper 70s to the lower 80s.
Strong high pressure at the upper levels of the atmosphere remains off shore and over the western one fourth of the U.S. That will keep our warming trend going through Saturday with a number of locations moving into the mid 80s Friday and Saturday. A weak, fragmented low pressure system will move into southern California over the weekend. It should throw a few patches of mid and high level clouds over the area but little else. Upper level high pressure will rebuild beginning Monday and lasting through at least Thursday of next week. In fact, upper 70s to lower 80s are possible through next Friday.
The GFS model and the two week model have been suggesting for the past three days that a low pressure system will move through northern California, possibly spreading precipitation down to Fresno with a marginal chance further south. It does appear to be a one-day event as it will move southeastward into the Desert Southwest by the following day.
Forecast: Other than some occasional high clouds, it will be mostly clear through Friday. Mostly clear to possibly occasionally partly cloudy Saturday through Sunday. Mostly clear Sunday night and on through Thursday of next week.

Winds: Winds will be generally less than 12 MPH later mornings and afternoons and less than 7 MPH with periods of near calm conditions nights and early mornings through Sunday.
Rain: Two medium range models have been pointing towards a low pressure system moving through the Pacific Northwest and northern California about April 6. The trend towards Fresno County being the dividing line between wet and dry weather continues. This appears to be a one storm event if it occurs at all. Dry weather will return on the seventh and continue thereafter.
Frost: All locations will be above freezing indefinitely.
